How does booking with JRNY work?

You apply to join our members club, if accepted you will choose the membership best for you, send us your luxury travel needs, we source and negotiate a custom VIP bid for you directly with one of our top luxury hotel partners, you confirm, we book and you’re all set! We handle everything for you.

In addition to luxury hotel bookings, we also offer full-service custom travel itineraries.

Which membership is best for me?

If you travel rarely, but when you do, you of course want the best, then Basic is perfect for you. Our Basic reservations include standard travel planning (advising, sourcing, booking) and perks.

If you’re a frequent traveler like us and want access to unlimited hotel reservations, go with Elite. Our Elite reservations receive elevated perks (which may include exclusive hotel discounts).

How does JRNY get exclusive discounts + perks for Elite Members?

We have longstanding relationships with the most elite luxury hotels (and hospitality partners) around the world. We have spent our entire professional career traveling the world, experiencing these hotels personally, vetting them out for you, cultivating relationships, and booking significant amounts of business with them; becoming true, organic, and trusting partners.

Our hotel partners crave access to our impressive guest-list of Members, and we work directly with the Sales team at each hotel to access private, unpublished pricing and perks.

We connect the two, and provide our Members with exclusive VIP value-adds and amazing experiences at our partner hotels, so that we can ensure that every trip is special.

PLEASE NOTE: every hotel is different in terms of what perks can be obtained. Additionally, high demand destinations, busy dates, guestroom availability, and length of stay all are factored into what types of value-adds can be secured, and no specific savings/ perks/ discounts, etc. are guaranteed. For instance, a popular hotel may be almost sold out during their peak season, and in that situation, they may not be able to offer a discount (which is why we always suggest booking in advance so we can obtain the best rates and perks for you). Or a hotel will offer a better rate and more perks for staying 3 nights than they would for just a one-nighter. These perks may ONLY be accessed through booking directly with us - you cannot obtain our discounts and perks by going to the hotel on your own or through any other travel planners. Finally, our discounts are based off of the Best Available Rate on the hotel’s direct website - this is their best offer without restrictions (ie having to do prepayment, or the reservation being non-cancellable). There may be separate promos the hotel is offering (usually with restrictions) and we can book those promos for you.

When is the best time to book?

We cannot stress this enough - hotels are busy! Demand for luxury travel is HIGH.

Following the pandemic, people are eager to not only explore the world, but spend good money doing it. Now more than ever, we realize and value the experiences of traveling the world.

Regardless, it is ALWAYS best to book your travels as soon as possible. As hotels build up base and have more availability, they have more flexibility in terms of pricing (so possibly more perks/ savings), but as they book up and have limited availability with more demand, rates increase, and they have less flexibility in terms of what they can offer.

Many top hotels are selling out months ahead. Planning ahead will not only mean we can likely get you a better deal than if you were to wait, but it will also help in guaranteeing a reservation, while waiting might mean no availability.

Furthermore, as we have made clear, it may be expected to obtain less perks for either a short-term booking, a booking at a high-demand destination, should there even be availability, and 1-night stays.

How do your annual memberships work?

Our annual memberships are on a recurring basis. Your card will be put on file for any applicable charges, and will be automatically charged for your membership dues each year. Membership will automatically renew on autopay each year from sign up date until membership cancellation.

Can you explain Your membership cancellation Policy?

In order to cancel an annual membership, you must simply email memberships@jrnytravel.com at least 7 days prior to automatic renewal in order to avoid autopay. Please note that any outstanding booking fees, if applicable, must be paid prior to membership cancellation.

Can you explain the no-book and cancellation fees for reservations that don’t actualize?

We pride ourselves on being a reputable company, and if we reach out to and negotiate with our hotel partners, they expect a booking in return based on our business model. If we negotiate with them but simply don’t book, it harms our relationship and credibility, and our hotel relationships and Member relationships are EVERYTHING.

If a Member decides to not move forward for any reason after we initially reach out to hotels and negotiate, the booking yields a no-book fee (for every hotel that we reach out to that you do not book).

Separately, if we officially confirm a booking and you need to cancel for any reason, the booking will yield a cancellation fee (10% of total room revenue for hotels).

Our time is money, and our team needs to be properly compensated for their time as you can understand (as they are compensated directly on any needs they work on), as well as keeping in mind that we are potentially harming our hotel relationships with either of these scenarios.

Can you explain Your refund policy for membership dues and booking fees?

We have a strict no refunds policy, no exceptions. All sales are final and no refunds are permitted.

Can you explain the processing fee for membership dues and booking fees?

All sales made to JRNY Travel have a 3.5% processing fee in order to use our secure payment processor.

Can you explain the difference between your Luxury Travel House and a discount budget booking site?

Our Luxury Travel House could not be any more different than a discount budget booking site. If that is the format in which you typically book your hotel stays, then please note our Members Club is not a good fit for you.

JRNY provides great value, not only by sourcing and giving you access to the best luxury hotels around the world, but we also provide tangible value.

We are not saying that the rates we provide are always going to be the lowest rates available to be booked on Earth (although generally speaking, they are!), because we provide value in a lot of other different ways than just the rate. If you are simply looking for the cheapest rate possible, have budgeted needs, and arent interested in the JRNY experience/ amenities, then a budget site will be best for you.

Discount budget booking sites (any site other than the hotel’s direct website) may provide guests with a discounts from the hotel’s website, however they are usually guaranteeing you in the bottom of the barrel room categories (a parking lot view, a room with 2 beds when you need a King, an ADA room, a room by construction, etc). Understandably, these are not the types of rooms or experiences we design. They also provide no additional value, and are usually pre-paid and non-refundable.

JRNY on the other hand creates VIP and luxury white-glove EXPERIENCES. We provide a bundle of exclusive VIP value, and we place our Members in THE BEST rooms, often times hand-picked by our team (to ensure you are in the best room type and location).

Our Luxury Travel House is not comparable to discount budget booking sites, as they are worlds away, and not at all the type of business we are associating ourselves with. Out of respect for our prestigious Members Club, luxury travel services, and relationships, we ask that you do not put our JRNY rates up against those on a wholesale discount site.
